* 8:15 AM Sunrise Yoga
A peaceful-prayerful meditation of gratitude synced with gentle movement that flows into a quiet walk in the beautiful natural surroundings on the historic C&O Canal towpath. Presented by Christina Collins-Smith of beWellnessArts and Kevin Hook, Retired State of Maryland Forest and Park Ranger & Natural Resources Police


* 9:15 AM - Family Yoga Fun and Movement
A special session for some bonding family fun with grandparents, parents, aunts, uncles, teens, and kiddos - Presented by Samantha Shank.


* 10:15 AM - Chair Yoga for EveryOne
Surprise yourself with increased flexibility and renewed energy in this gentle practice that allows the body to move into its maximum state of wellbeing.  Presented by Bethany Peabody.


* 11:15 AM - Self-Talk Yoga: Meet the Chakras of Communication with Dr. Suzie Carmack: In this uplifting mind-body practice for all experience levels, you’ll learn a simple routine to calm racing thoughts and transform negative self-talk into personal empowerment! Blending gentle yoga, mindful movement, and the wisdom of the chakras, we’ll move through eight sequences designed to clear inner blocks and reconnect you with your inner peace. You’ll leave with practical tools for expanding your emotional intelligence and stress resilience — on and off the mat. Presented by YogaMedCo.

* 12:15 PM - YogaRhythmics for Adults, Parents and Children - Come out to play! Get your body moving. Feel like a kid again - A little dance. A lot of fun. Sweat, breathe, relax. Marya suggests that you might wear a tennis or sport shoe for some extra "bounce" during this session. Presented by Marya Michael - a Kripalu Institute certified teacher of this class.

* 1:15 PM - Community Yoga - Functional Movement & Breath -
The body is made to move and, as you learn to sync your breath with the body's movements to maximize the energetic benefits it brings as we receive and release, you will also learn simple ways to keep your spine and joints healthy and flexible while strengthening your core and resilience in ways that just make good sense. Presented by Christina Collins-Smith, UPMC Western Maryland Community Wellness Yoga Health & Wellness Coach.

The event day ends with gates closing after the door prize drawing 3:00 PM.
Any winner who is not present will be notified the following day.

Community Yoga is offered by UPMC Western Maryland through its Community Wellness - Population Health division in partnership with the Allegany County Library System. It is a free community wellbeing activity. Join yoga health and wellness coach Christina Collins-Smith every Tuesday at 2:15pm for Chair Yoga at the S. Cumberland Library; at 11:00am for Functional Yoga at the S. Cumberland Library; and/or at 10:30am on Fridays at the LaVale Library.

And . . . stay tuned for new community monthly classes being planned at the C. William Gilchrist Museum of the Arts in 2026.
